Become a Foster Parent/Family
More than 2,600 children are provided care annually in foster care in Bexar County. Under Family Tapestry, the care for children and families is being transformed by weaving together the community’s strengths and producing a foster care system focusing on keeping children safe, placing them with caring, nurturing adults and helping them find a permanent stable home.
You don’t need to own a home, have special skills, earn a high income or be married to be a foster parent.
When children are healing from neglect, abuse, and/or abandonment, they are limited in their ability to dream and reach their full and maximum potential. Foster parents are not just providing basic needs, they are ensuring each child receives individualized care and attention, physical and emotional wellbeing, access to education, and provides them with an opportunity to achieve their dreams and reach their full potential.
The need is a parent. The need is you.
It takes a community to foster the needs of the children in our county. With the resources of Family Tapestry and its network of 30 local partner agencies, you’re never alone. Comprehensive training classes are taught by experts in a variety of locations, along with providing important resources. Take the first step by filling out the form and finding out more about fostering hope for a child.
