Network Provider Training

Family Tapestry Network Provider Training with Texas A&M University San Antonio

**This training is only open to those agency staff within our partner network.**

Topic 1 – 1:00 – 2:30pm: Presenters will review a general description of characteristics, possible causes, cognitive styles, language skills and behavior of children on the autism spectrum scale. Various behavioral interventions for use in a home environment will be discussed that are effective for children with autism. Interventions will include ways to incorporate siblings (not on spectrum) with those children with autism.

Topic 2 – 3:00 – 4:30pm: Basic Psychopharmacology and Antidepressants: How to Talk to Clients about Psychotropic Medications. This presentation will provide service providers information pertaining to antidepressants. It will also discuss strategies for addressing client concerns and assisting clients in effectively discussing psychotropic medications with the prescribing physician.
